For more than three decades Theresa Marteau has led research on changing everyday behaviours across populations — what we eat and drink, smoking and physical inactivity – evaluating what works, what doesn't, and why governments so often fail to act on evidence.

She is Professor Emerita of Behavioural Science at the University of Cambridge and Honorary Fellow of Christ's College, Cambridge.

Her first book, Pushback: How Four Industries Are Making Us Sick and How We Can Reclaim Control, is being published by The Bodley Head on 4 February 2027.
